Summer fabric haul and sewing plans

The heatwave is continuing in the UK and I found myself wanting to make some appropriate clothing to wear.

The following three fabrics are all viscose, perfectly lightweight and comfortable for the current weather situation.

First up was a little trip to Ebay. The Textile Centre to be exact. I caught myself lusting after this very lovely pink and black floral number. Most of my wardrobe is floral, especially bright colours on black. But oh well, I ended up getting some more for a very reasonable price, it would be rude not to.

I'd love to make another Simplicity 8608 faux wrap dress, but I only bought 1.5m of this fabric. Instead, I want to hack the pattern into a little tea dress. A V-neck bodice with a simple A-line skirt. It'd work well for layering in winter too!

Next was this lovely purple on black floral viscose. It was a steal at just £1.99 a metre from The Textile Centre, but I got the last piece.

I was thinking of making a Megan Nielsen Sudley blouse, or a simple elasticated midi skirt. I'm not sure yet, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Finally I managed to get my hands on this amazing tropical print fabric from Fabric Land. I was in the Brighton shop a few months ago and spotted it on the shelf in two colour ways. I returned to the shop a few weeks after and it had all sold out!

I tried ordering the blue colour way online, but they had sold out after putting the order through. Instead, they managed to send me the green/orange colour instead - phew! I know it's not 100% my colour, but I still love it.

I plan to make a Sew Over It Libby shirt in this and rock the Hawaiian holiday dad vibe.

Come back later to see my recent makes, or check my Instagram for more photos.
