Fabric haul and sewing plans

For the first time in a long time, maybe even ever, I have done a fabric haul!

It's not something I'd normally do but my sewing motivation has come back and my head is full of plans and creations.

Here's what I've bought and what I plan to make...

Deer & Doe Melilot shirt in leopard print viscose

I've made the Melilot shirt once before and I LOVED it. It's neat flattering and very comfortable to wear. I chose this leopard print viscose from eBay for my second version. This will be easier to work with than chiffon but still provide a nice drape to the bodice. Also, let's not forget that leopard print is neutral!

Tilly and the Buttons Cleo dress in maroon cord

I'm still not bored of this versatile dungaree dress - there's a Cleo dress for all situations. A maroon cord Cleo is oh sew perfect for these wintery February days. The Topshop version has floated around my Pinterest feed for years and it's time I got my own version. The cord is from Minerva Crafts so really reasonably priced and very soft to wear.

Seamwork Astoria in stripe jersey (spandex...?)

Whenever I don't know what to make I always choose an Astoria top. It's such a quick and easy make and gets me into a creative groove. I found this stripe jersey on sale at Minerva Crafts and loved the 70's style colour scheme. It's a bit 'out-there' but I think in spring it'll look great with jeans and trainers. The fabric itself is super slinky, I think it's a bit more like spandex so might be difficult to work with. Wish me luck.

Megan Nielsen Sudley dress in floral viscose

Oh hello viscose my old and trusty friend. I think most of my wardrobe is made up of viscose - it's my favourite fabric to work with. This floral design from Minerva Crafts will be perfect for a dress, and why not a Sudley dress? It's a comfortable smock dress and something I live in every day for work. Can't get enough!

See you next time!
