Tribal floral cropped top

One of Grandma's skirts was a lovely blue and gold floral, almost tribal print which I thought would make a great top.

Using the top half of my favourite shift dress as a pattern, I ended up with a pretty cool, slouchy shaped top.

To create a neat neckline and sleeve hemline, I used a bias strip, cut out from the same fabric. This gave quite a chunky effect, but I think it works quite well with the slouchy shape and the thickness of the fabric.

I've found myself wearing this top all the time, pairing it with both shorts and skirts in the heat of the summer. It's really comfortable to wear and I'm already looking forward to the weather to warm up so I can crack it out again.
